What is Heat Engine?

In thermodynamics, a heat engine performs the conversion of heat energy to mechanical work by exploiting the temperature gradient between a hot "source" and a cold "sink".

Heat is transferred from the source, through the "working body" of the engine, to the sink, and in this process some of the heat is converted into work by exploiting the properties of a working substance (usually a gas or liquid).

  2. so what is the difference between a heat engine and a heat pump? any idea?:D

  3. yeah. i have an idea.
heat pump is the total opposite of heat engine.
if heat engine absorbs from high to low temp. heat pumps are from low to a higher temp. :)

  5. nice job! tga SciHi din aq.. maganda ung topic niyo about sa heat engine.. sa viewpoint ko, mas gaganda sya kung may applied science and technology kau n pwding irelate sa topic niyo.. sample niyo ung application ng heat engine sa paggawa ng mga robotic arms and selenoid.. mas maganda rin sana kung ma aaply niyo ang mga natutunan niyo sa paggawa ng mga prototype machines n pwding ilaban sa mga invention conventions ng DOST.. ang mga topic about sa robotix and prototype ang pinaka sikat sa mga blog geeks.. pwd ko rin kaung tulungan about sa mga topic n yan coz i'm ECE student.. i hope this will help you to improve ur blogs..^^.. im Yuls de Leon of Batch Osiris..kilala aq ni Sir Briones mas lalo na c Sir Raphy..^^

Difference between heat engine and pump..
... Heat engine is a device that performs the conversion of heat to mechanical work thus it create an enormous amount of heat which can barely affect the performance of the engine, hence inventors discover a strategy by which convert the high tempertured-heat produce by the heat engine to a lesser temperatured-heat to cool-up the whole system. This strategy is perform by the heat pump. In other words, when there is a heat engine to produce work, there's always a heat pump to maintain the heat of the engine.. hope you understand.

  7. Oh!what a nice blog! The topic which is "heat engines" are well-explained.I'm sure that this will help a lot especially to us students.this will enhance our knowledge about the said topic.
    Great job!keep it up!:)

  9. wow!:) thank you po Yuls de leon:)
thank you for sharing a lot of that information.
we'll add that up here in our blog:D

naabutan pa po namin ang batch osiris:)
    thanks for the help!:p
    well appreciated.

hope you have a successful blog.
